After 25 years in the real estate business, there’s almost nothing in the world we love more than laying our eyes on an unbelievable piece of property for the first time, and getting the rush of knowing it’s something we want to be involved in.
Through four companies and constant innovation and re-invention, we have brought a passionate and personal perspective to creating, developing and marketing the world’s great real estate opportunities.
Our history began in a suburb of Vancouver in 1983, with RE/MAX Royal City Realty that quickly became the highest sales-per-agent franchise in the North America-wide network, and the one with the longest list of satisfied customers.
In 1989, our focus shifted to project marketing with Milborne Real Estate, and over the next five years, the company sold more than 100 projects with a sales volume of $1.5 billion.
As the resort real estate business boomed in the 1990s, we formed a company named Sapera that would become instrumental in reinventing the selling process. The Limited Priority Reservation program we created — now an industry-wide standard — gave thousands of people the opportunity to own the resort home of their dreams, and fueled dynamic growth at Intrawest, which bought Sapera in 2000 and renamed it Playground.
In 2004, when S&P Destination Properties was formed, we knew we didn’t want to repeat ourselves. We already understood developers and brokers. Our instincts told us that it was the customer that presented the greatest opportunity for us to learn and to innovate. In the end, that’s what made us want to get back to it, to start again.
S&P Destination Properties is a legacy company that’s all about the people who bring it to life and give it meaning. We’re creating an organization that stands the many tests of time — one our team members’ children will work for. It’s a company that sells property that will stay in a family for generations, creating memories and enriching lives.
