Whether it’s helping determine the “architectural vocabulary” of a village or the mountain lifestyle for a grand lodge, S&P are redfining destination villages. Our expertise ensures a perfect blend of the outdoor and indoor village experience.
The genesis of Blue Mountain was the vision of Jozo Weider, one of North America’s ski pioneers, who in 1940 set out to create Ontario’s first true ski destination. The vision continued in 1999 when a vibrant Georgian Bay-styled village was concepted by Intrawest.
The incredible success of the Grand Georgian and Weider Lodge acted as the tipping point to signal the Toronto market that the Village at Blue Mountain had arrived. Today this village makes a bold statement for year-round recreation as the destination of choice for the region.
Home of the 1960 Olympics and the epicenter of extreme skiing, the natural evolution for Squaw Valley was the addition of a village center. In 1998 Sid & Pete participated in the design charette for the Village at Squaw Valley that took the parking lot and transformed it into Tahoe’s first “California alpine” themed village.
Two years later, the S&P team launched First Ascent Lodge and broke a single day sales record for units and volume sold. Today the Village at Squaw Valley represents some of the most interesting village architecture found throughout North America.
Located in Big Cottonwood Canyon in the heart of Utah’s Wasatch Rocky Mountain range is Solitude. One of the least-known resorts by comparison to Deer Valley, Park City or Alta, Solitude has a well-earned reputation as a skier’s mountain.
Sid & Pete joined the team to transform the parking lot into a small, intimate European-style village. With the successful launch of Eagle Springs Lodge and Powderhorn Lodge, today Solitude Village stands as one of the finest boutique village experiences in North America.
